Marisian Social Service has been initiated in order to bring out social awareness in the students and to awaken in them a sense of responsibility towards the different sections of the society particularly the less privileged and the marginalized. Right from the inception of Stella Maris our Management undertook evening classes of a non-formal type to benefit the children living in the hutments in the vicinity of the College. Our staff and students actively support these ventures in social service to our immediate neighbourhood. The beneficiaries of our outreach programme are not only the children but also their entire family. On the occasion of important festivals the College organizes functions for them. Plans are underway to further expand ‘Marisian Social Service’ activities for the benefit of more children and others in need.
